One of the biggest factors in bodybuilders bulking to gain muscle is the food they eat, dirty bulk transformation. In most cases the food they eat is not high in protein but higher in carbs, such as the type found in white bread or pasta. So a 4-6 gram diet would have worked for these lean meat eaters but might be a waste of time and could even be dangerous for the bodybuilder, dirty bulking1.
